Director of Construction Operations

The Director of Construction Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction project execution. This position drives continuous improvement across all construction operations and ensures projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Essential Functions

• Oversee construction projects ensuring successful delivery across all phases.
• Establish and maintain relationships with key clients, subcontractors, vendors, and industry partners.
• Monitor project performance metrics, budgets, and schedules.
• Esure compliance with all safety regulations, building codes, and company standards.
• Collaborate with preconstruction, estimating, and business development teams to support project pursuits.
• Prepare and present construction progress reports to executive leadership team.
• Manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
• Resolve complex project issues and disputes with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.

Required & Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field required.
• Master's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or LEED preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 7 years in senior management.
• Demonstrated success managing construction operations with annual revenues of $50M or more.
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Experience with diverse project types including commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional construction.

Work Environment/Physical & Mental Requirements

• Office-based position with regular visits to construction sites.
• May require occasional evening and weekend work to meet project deadlines.
• Must be able to navigate active construction sites, including climbing ladders and walking on uneven terrain.
• Valid driver's license required.
