Kuakini Geriatric Care, Inc. Description of Position
Responsible for coordinating operational activities of a designated unit in accordance with established nursing standards, policies, procedures, Federal and State requirements, and other regulatory requirements.
Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships between nursing administration and staff, and has twenty-four (24) hour accountability for compliance to nursing care standards in the planning, organizing, directing, and implementing nursing care.
Works collaboratively with all departments and the medical staff to achieve and maintain quality resident care in a cost-effective manner, and promotes teamwork among all members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications and Requirements
Graduate of an accredited schoolof nursing with current Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Hawaiirequired; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred.
Minimum one (1) year experience in acutemedical / surgical / gerontological nursing required. Management experience preferred;
or anycombination of education and experience which would provide the necessaryknowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to performthe essential functions of this position.
Basic Life Support (BLS), required, withretraining once every two years.
