Important: This is a full-time position. During winter months, this role transitions into snow removal operations.

Position Overview
As a Chemical Applicator / Lawn Care Technician, you will be responsible for applying lawn treatments safely and accurately across residential and commercial properties. You will operate trucks and application equipment, provide excellent customer service, and maintain detailed records for compliance and route performance.
In the fall, you’ll assist with aeration and seeding services. In the winter, you’ll support snow removal operations to ensure continuous full-time employment.
Key ResponsibilitiesLawn Care & Applications
- Apply fertilizer, weed control, and other turf treatments safely and effectively
- Read and follow label instructions and safety requirements
- Monitor turf health and identify common weeds/disease/insect pressure
- Maintain accurate treatment records (products used, rates, weather, notes)
- Provide professional customer service and represent KBLC well onsite
- Keep truck/equipment clean, calibrated, and maintained
- Communicate clearly with the team about route progress, issues, and customer needs
Fall Seasonal Services
- Perform core aeration and overseeding
- Assist with fall cleanups and seasonal turf services as needed
Winter Snow Removal (Required)
- Assist with commercial and/or residential snow removal operations
- Operate equipment safely (truck plows, skid steers, shoveling/sidewalk crews if needed)
- Be available for early mornings, overnight events, and emergency call-ins during storms
- Maintain strict safety standards during winter operations
What We’re Looking ForRequired
- Iowa 3OT License (or ability to obtain before starting)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Comfortable working independently and staying on schedule
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to doing work correctly
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically capable of handling equipment (lifting, walking, standing for long periods)
Preferred (Not Required)
- Previous chemical application experience
- Turf knowledge: weeds, fertilizer timing, turf stress, disease/insect awareness
- Experience with ride-on spreaders, skid sprayers, Z-sprayers
- Experience in snow removal (truck plow, skid steer, sidewalks)
