We are looking for a skilled individual who has a fabrication background and good mathematical and mechanical aptitude. Must be a self-starter who is detail-oriented, organized and quality conscious, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Good communication skills are essential, as is the ability to accurately solicit and compile bids from multiple subcontractors. Must have experience and working knowledge of dioramas and recreated environments, scenic treatments, interactive exhibits, audiovisual, metal work, graphic production, showcases, and artifact mounting. The individual should also have a strong background and be able to produce estimates for exhibit cabinetry and casework, along with other in-house production items. As most estimates are needed within a short period of time, the candidate should work well under pressure as well be a creative problem solver.
An individual must have the ability to work with our clients and design partners to make suggestions on value engineering, advise on methods of construction.

Job Responsibilities
- Work independently to produce cost estimate from contract drawing and specification.
- Work with external design teams to create budget estimates from concept design renderings.
- Identify and send out specialty components for subcontract pricing.
- Research component manufacturers and obtain pricing from the same.
- Estimate, detailing, project management, and installation hours.
- Lead the project kick-off meeting process by reviewing the scope and estimate documentation with the project team.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both through verbal and written means
- Communicate politely and professional with clients and client’s team.
- Evaluate and negotiate with subcontractors and vendors during the bid phase to obtain competitive pricing.
- Thorough knowledge of carpentry methods and materials.
- Ability to understand visual/illustrative methods design.
Job Specifications & Requirements:
· 10 years estimating experience.
· Possesses detailed knowledge of carpentry, fabrication methods and manufacturing processes.
- Able to read and understand construction/fabrication blueprints/shop drawings
· Working knowledge proficient in working with a wide range of materials; glass, wood, plastics, acrylics, laminates, graphics, metals, etc.
· Good decision making and problem-solving skills
· Demonstrates good organizational skills.
· Manages time efficiently and can multi-task effectively.
· Pays attention to detail.
· Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
· Must have good verbal, written, and computer skills, and the ability to work effectively with others in a team environment.
· Ability to communicate ideas, progress, and accomplishments to peers and supervisors.
