What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Coach position at Kulanu Academy?
Summary:
The Job Coach is responsible for identifying potential vocational opportunities for those served. They will interact with employers and ability to understand the needs and adaptations of those with disabilities in employer settings.
Core Functions:
- Cultivate a network of employers.
- Develop and maintain a bank of internship and employment sites.
- Maintain a flexible caseload of assigned individuals determined by program enrollment.
- Maintain a database of new employers, site visits, and job placement opportunities.
- Facilitate job readiness skills by:
- - Assisting with job application procedures
- - Conducting job-seeking workshops
- - Coordinating mock interview workshops
- Document all contact with prospective, current, and former individuals served.
- Document services provided in compliance with agency, local, state, and federal regulations.
- Job may include, but not be limited to, the following: bending, stooping, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
- Job includes, at times, extensive walking.
- Frequent location changes and movement between different community-based work settings; staff may have to be at 3 to 4 different locations in one work shift.
- Work hours may be flexible based on clients’ needs.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and sales skills
- Understand the needs of individuals with disabilities as related to employment settings.
- Ability to work independently and track work is important.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, Bus admin & job dev exp preferred but not required.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities.
