Maintenance Technician
Job Requirements/ Experience / Background:
- Must be able to troubleshoot and repair most automated systems within the facility
- Good understanding of AC/DC electrical power sources in a manufacturing plant
- Knowledgeable on good safety practices within a maintenance department
- Ability to complete administrative tasks; conduct pre-shift meetings, manage down time on machines, write and conduct reports for management
- Manage spare parts, energy consumption and any related tasks within the General Maintenance department
- Work effectively with others to resolve issues, establish the root cause for machine breakdowns and maintain minimum downtime issues
- Coordinate breakdowns based on priority with other technicians; provide feedback/opinions for machine improvements
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Have a good working knowledge of electrical and mechanical operations
- Knowledgeable on work flow processes, troubleshooting, blueprint reading and scheduling of preventive maintenance checks and services
- Ensure parts room is clean and organized; check inventory; coordinate with engineers and others on ordering parts
- Proficient in Microsoft products for reporting and documentation
- Must be able to push, pull, or lift at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two-year degree in Industrial Technology or any other related field
- Minimum three years’ experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming (Allen Bradley and/or Mitsubishi) and HVAC a plus.
