Job Overview
The Medical Receptionist is the face and voice of our practice, responsible for delivering a warm and welcoming experience for all patients. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer and route incoming calls, take accurate messages
- Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments
- Verify insurance and obtain authorizations
- Collect co-pays and handle payment processing
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA protocols
- Update and manage patient records in the EMR system
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Handle incoming mail, faxes, and other administrative tasks such as data entry, filing and documentation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 year of experience in a medical office setting preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (eClinicalWorks a plus)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a strong plus
- Professional demeanor and a team-player attitude
- A commitment to providing outstanding patient care and support in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
