What are the responsibilities and job description for the Overnight Direct Support Professional position at L'Arche Erie?
L'Arche Erie provides a wonderful opportunity to share life with adults with intellectual disabilities. We attend to daily living responsibilities and personal care/needs of the core members (residents) in a home setting. Responsibilities and Duties:
- Remain awake during scheduled hours
- Assisting individuals with daily living tasks including personal care
- Assure safety measures of the home are carried out
- Assist in the implementation of Support plans and adherence to State Regulations
- Daily documentation and upkeep of records
- Medication Administration
- Cooking
- Upkeep of the home/vehicles
- Provide transportation
- Participate in meetings of the house, team and community
- Meet all training/in-service requirements as well as L'Arche formations
- Encourage and participate in daily home activities, social outings, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license and good driving record
- Clearances (Act 34 and FBI if out of state)
- Good writing and communication skills
- Adhere to the mission and values of L’Arche
- Must obtain SPECTRUM 2.0 training and complete other mandatory trainings, as required
- Ability to fulfill a flexible schedule, including weekends
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs.
Schedule and placement in the home may fluctuate. Schedules are created to meet the needs of the home.
