The location of this position is flexible. The chosen candidate could fulfill the work in a hybrid or fully remote capacity. The chosen candidate must live within our existing footprint. Candidates located outside of our geographic area will not be considered.
The Purchasing Coordinator is accountable for buying and optimizing inventory across all branches. In this position, you will oversee the order process for your assigned product lines, establish strong vendor relationships, and execute purchasing objectives.
Job Duties Include:
- Process purchase orders and track the replenishment of inventory
- Work cross-functionally with sales, accounting, and operations to support an efficient supply chain and high level of customer service
- Regularly communicate with vendors to stay current on products and ensure they meet expectations
- Resolve discrepancies with internal and external partners
- Maintain accurate supplier price lists
- Commitment to expand product knowledge through trainings and independent research
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs and enhance the overall purchasing process
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, or related field preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in purchasing/planning, preferably within a distribution company
- Knowledge of distribution concepts and forecasting
- Able to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical nature with the knowledge to interpret data to make decisions
- Ability to effectively resolve issues
- Effective communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Computer proficiency, including prior experience with an ERP system and Microsoft Excel
