Summary
Reporting to the Consumer Lending Assistant Manager, this full-time, non-exempt hourly role assists members via telephone and internet by answering lending questions and solving any lending issues for the member while providing accurate and complete information. The Consumer Lending Associate works to thoroughly interview the member or potential member to capture accurate and complete information to enable the Loan Committee to review and decision a loan application. The associate will gather all information to prepare loan documents and set up loan closings for members that are approved for consumer loans.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Assist members over the phone & internet with consumer loan questions, and provide accurate and complete information. Help determine the needs and payment plans in conjunction with taking consumer loan applications over the phone.
- Demonstrate superior phone etiquette and strong interpersonal skills to create an exceptional member service experience.
- Meet and exceed all productivity, quality standards and cross-selling of ancillary products on consumer loans as established by Management.
- Follow all loan & Credit Union policies and maintain confidentiality.
- Maintain member files and gather supporting loan documents according to established procedures and policies for consumer lending.
- Cooperate and work together as a team with coworkers and perform any extra duties that are needed by management.
- Making out bound calls to members for potential consumer lending opportunities.
Qualifications and Certifications
- A high school education or GED required.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- 1 year to 3 years of similar or related experience required.
- Basic computer literacy required.
