What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Territory Manager position at L&S Electric?

Responsibilities:

  • Promote, sell, and support products and services to meet sales goals.

  • Maintain account/contact lists, opportunities, win strategies, accurate forecasts, and associated data in CRM.

  • Identify, document, and establish relationships at customer site, with corporate and plant engineering, buyers, management, maintenance, and operations personnel.

  • Proactively work with customers to specify L&S equipment and design philosophies in their project bid specifications.

  • Organize and conduct customer presentations.

  • Identify and qualify projects, obtain specifications, and monitor competition within assigned territory.

  • Review technical and commercial project specifications and determine customer requirements.

  • Evaluate on-site project conditions through visual, verbal & written means. Document quantity, characteristics, condition, and replacement potential of equipment at customer facilities.

  • Document quantity, characteristics, condition, and replacement potential of equipment at customer facilities.

  • Review commercial & technical specification and prepare proposals.

  • Present and follow up on proposals.

  • Prepare territory sales forecast.

  • Stay up to date on market conditions, leads and potential projects.

  • Effective transfer projects to operations personnel.

  • Support business as requested.

  • Ensure quality products and services to our customers – voice of customer. Effectively deal with customer issues.

  • Ensure CRM has accurate anticipated award dates, anticipated chance of award, sell prices.

  • Ability to develop sales strategies.

  • Attend market trade shows and exhibitions as requested.

  • Develop market advertising material as requested.


Requirements:

  • Technical degree and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in technical sales.

  • Ability to travel 20-30% domestically and internationally (Canada).

  • Adhere to all safety requirement, able to wear personal protective equipment (hearing protection, hard hat, safety glasses, etc.).

  • Shall sign L&S confidentiality and sales agreement each year.

  • Desired:

    • Hydroelectric power plant operations and equipment knowledge desired.

    • Experience with digital/hydraulic governors, automation systems, SCADA systems, excitation systems, power transformers, switchgear, contractor installation services, and engineering services desired.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Valid passport or ability to obtain one.

  • Fluent in English language.

  • Able to work in the United States, L&S does not sponsor working permit or visa.


Physical demands:

  • Ability to adapt to environmental conditions and safety requirement that varies from facility to facility (i.e. surfaces, height, heat, noise, PPE).

  • Occasional lifting of 50lbs objects.

  • Work from assigned L&S office unless prior approval given.

  • Work is performed at the customer jobsite as well as at L&S facilities.
