What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at L&T Technology Services?
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Mechanical Engineer to support our New Product Introduction (NPI) program for large industrial diesel engines. This is an onsite backfill position where you will work closely with cross‑functional engineering teams to ensure our engine designs are production-ready, fully validated, and aligned with all technical and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support NPI/NTI programs for industrial engine platforms.
- Review and validate 3D models using Teamcenter Visualization and ensure proper design fitment.
- Manage and update Bill of Materials (BOM) for multiple engine projects.
- Coordinate with design, regulatory, and dealer teams to verify part compatibility and procure validation materials.
- Identify design issues during virtual audits and communicate fixes to engineering teams.
- Maintain and track technical requirements using internal tools such as CLEAR.
- Define feature codes for components and coordinate pricing updates with the pricing team.
- Prepare summaries, documentation, and reports for NPI/MPI reviews.
- Ensure timely updates of designs and configuration changes in Teamcenter.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (required).
- 1–4 years of mechanical design or product engineering experience (internships count).
- Experience with engines, automotive systems, power generation, or heavy equipment.
- Hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with Teamcenter or similar PLM tools.
- Understanding of manufacturing, assembly processes, or product validation workflows
