Responsibilities
- Provide coaching and mentoring to engineering managers and their teams, fostering professional growth and excellence within the department.
- Oversee the implementation, operation, and maintenance of global networks and technical solutions, prioritizing reliability, and security as key objectives.
- Assume strategic and tactical leadership responsibilities for engineering operations, guiding the team towards achieving organizational goals.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across stakeholder groups and divisions, including program management teams, to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their objectives and translate them into actionable technical solutions, ensuring client success and satisfaction.
- Identify talent gaps, recruit, mentor, and retain engineering managers and software engineers, cultivating a culture of excellence.
- Establish and oversee the growth and coordination of the engineering department, ensuring comprehensive planning, execution, and technical leadership.
- Lead a high-performance management team, by setting the mission, vision and strategy of the Infrastructure and Operations to maximize the success of business, clients, and IT enterprise programs.
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise in network design, integration, test, security, and implementation of Network Services
- Provide expert knowledge of defense-in-depth standards, Network and Security architecture, network topology, IT device integrity, and common security elements.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance activities with the appropriate Delivery Operations Managers, NOC Lead, Release Management team and other key stakeholders.
- Direct oversight of technical services, Security and Talent Acquisition functions.
- Develop and maintain technical documents, analyses, and reports.
- Actively participate in Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management activities.
- Achieve goals each year for fiscal revenue, retention, and new growth.
- Develop a strategic plan for FY25 and position the organization for growth in both main and adjacent market spaces. Lead new growth pursuits in several area; manage services, and product areas.
- Stay current on technologies and trends and be capable of making informed suggestions and decisions for technology updates.
- Other responsibilities include reviewing and updating procedures, mentoring junior staff, coordinating project tasks, and supporting cross-divisional collaboration to advance the company's program portfolio.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
- Expert in Coaching and Mentoring: Proficient in guiding and mentoring engineering managers and their teams to achieve excellence.
- Global Network Deployment Expertise: Skilled in overseeing the deployment, maintenance, and operation of global networks and technical solutions, prioritizing reliability, and security.
- Strategic Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to provide both strategic vision and tactical guidance in engineering operations.
- Effective Stakeholder Communication: Proven success in facilitating seamless collaboration across divisions, including program management teams, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Client-Centric Approach: Established track record of collaborating with clients to transform their objectives into actionable and effective technical solutions.
Other Qualifications
- Proven track record in building and optimizing high-performance engineering teams through effective organizational processes.
- Skilled in prioritizing divisional objectives and ensuring project alignment with company mission and timelines.
- The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS degree in an Engineering related field, industry certifications, or equivalent experience.
- Capable of assessing and mitigating risks associated with programs, and developing risk, management strategies and contingency plans to ensure programs.
- Recognized expert technologist with a minimum of 10 years of experience in mission software solutions, commercial cloud solutions, end-user security basics, VPNs, VOIP, encryption, and virtual desktops.
- Ability to develop, manage, and implement a technology roadmap and portfolio.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with public speaking skills
- A security clearance may be required for this position; Therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Location: Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA) with ability to travel to customer sites across the region
- Potential for 10% travel beyond the WMA.
