Job Description:
The Business Office Coordinator is responsible for a full spectrum of Business Office needs. Duties are as follows: receiving and admitting new patients, providing patients/guarantors with an explanation of facility charges and insurance benefits, explanation of payment arrangements as well as collection of any arranged monies due upon admission, providing notification to patients/guarantors of insurance denials, preparation of financial statements for guarantors, facilitating COBRA paperwork as needed, the creation of patient collection files daily, communicating with patients and insurance companies both verbally and in writing, creating “insurance to self pay” collection files to mail, process, and call to collect on, manages old aging self pay balances with monthly letters and phone calls. Is also responsible for any additional support needed in billing, collections, and admission activity.
Required: typing, copying, filing, faxing, data input and basic mathematical calculations.
General Qualifications:
- Position requires a high school diploma or GED.
- Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to interact in a friendly and professional manner is required.
- Excellent customer service skills are required.
- Good math skills are required.
- Ability to type a minimum of 20 words per minute is required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends.
- Must be able to walk across campus multiple times during shift.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, sit and lift up to 20 pounds.
Schedule:
- Tuesday-Saturday
- 8:30 AM-5:00 PM
