What are the responsibilities and job description for the Busser position at La Jolla Country Club?
SUMMARY
Facilitates food service and provides clearing and cleaning duties to ensure efficiency. Responsible for assisting Servers and Expediters when required and re-stocking of all service areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a representative of the Club, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other staff, management, members, and guests.
- Compliance with all Club Safety Regulations and participation in ongoing Safety Seminars.
- Ensures proper set up in all areas of dining.
- Working knowledge of A La Carte menus and table numbers in order to efficiently assist Servers and Expediters.
- Utilize proper bussing techniques, crumbing, immediately remove soiled china and glassware, refilling water glasses, and removing tray jacks and trays from dining area.
- Utilize proper fine dining service techniques regarding clearing, meeting and greeting, replenishing water coffee and other non-alcoholic beverages. Use a tray when serving any type of beverage. Bring bread and butter at the appropriate times during service. Discarding soiled linens properly. Clear plates per course per established service standards.
- Assists with running food when business levels demand.
- Prepare bus stations and service stations with glassware, ice, lemons, etc. prior to service. Clean up and re-stock station at the conclusion of service.
- Prepare and re-set tables prior to member/guest arrival, including the complete set up of linens, proper chair placement, silverware and glassware.
- Prepare dishes for washing by scraping and stacking them according to the proper standards.
- Clean and refill condiments and polish silverware as in a timely manner to ensure the highest quality of excellence.
- Communicate any member needs or complaints to a Supervisors or Server immediately.
- Assist other busser areas with completion of side work when time permits.
- Assist in other areas and side work duties when time permits.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Must be able to communicate effectively with members, guests and fellow staff members. Understanding of English language essential for this communication.
- LJCC Server Basic Training required. (Basic knowledge of POS System)
- Experienced (non-manager)
- 1-2 years experience or relevant skill level.
