What are the responsibilities and job description for the Building Supervisor - MC position at La Porte County Family YMCA?
POSITION SUMMARY:
As a LaPorte County Family YMCA representative, you must be able to resolve potentially explosive situations in a fair, calm, and dignified manner. Never being combative or condescending to our membership/guests. Deliver excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Respond to member and guest needs, promote memberships and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Report unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor or other person of responsibility if your immediate supervisor is not available.
- Follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Follow departmental dress code. No alterations to the dress code are allowed.
- Complete incident and accident reports as necessary.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
- Help with other YMCA functions and duties as assigned by supervisor
- Know appropriate emergency and safety procedures and proper exits for everyone in the facility.
- Builds relationships with members and building participants.
- Exemplify the YMCA core values of caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty.
- Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants, contribute to member retention.
- Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
- Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
- Monitor and maintain order within and outside the YMCA building, enforcing facility rules.
- Follow guidelines established for monitoring the building as well as closing of the building, securing all exits.
- Set up multi-purpose room for parties
- Give tours to patrons per request
- Assure other staff are in their proper areas conducting their daily duties
- Checking doors located outside of basketball gym to assure people aren’t sneaking in.
- Show up on scheduled dates on time and in proper attire (must always have walkie-talkie on them).

QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 21years of age.
- CPR/First Aid/AED/Oxygen certifications within 30 days of hire.
- Complete West Bend training prior to hire and as required going forward.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to connect with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to operate small equipment (vacuum, snow blower, etc.)
- Perform any other assigned duties as necessary.
- Complete annual online and in-person child sexual abuse prevention training.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended lengths of time as demanded by the job.
- Must be able to walk up and down stairs multiple times a shift.
