This dynamic person must have the following skills:

  • Basic skills:
    • Dependability, punctuality, creativity, enthusiasm, flexibility, and patience. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing (in English).
  • Inter-personal Skills:
    • Sensitivity to the needs, interests, and abilities of residents with varying cognitive levels. Requires compassion, patience, empathy, sensitivity, and listening, team player within other areas of Assisted Living.
  • Assist and/or lead assigned group or one-to-one activity programs.
  • Report any changes in Resident behavior, safety hazards or procedural difficulties, to Activity Director and/or LPN Supervisor.
  • Assist with monthly activity calendars and display boards.
  • Assist with evaluation of each resident according to their background, activity interests, abilities, physical limitations and needs for meaningful activity programs.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of MS Office products including Publisher, Outlook calendar (including group calendar management), and Outlook mail.

Requirements are:

  • Responsible - Ability to be held accountable or answerable for one’s conduct.
  • Professional and Courteous Communication - Ability to communicate professionally and courteously with residents, patients, guests, and family members.
  • Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
  • Detail Oriented - Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
