Craftsman- Power Tool Specialist 14$/hr

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Craftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using a variety of power tools and be able to apply this knowledge to a range of tasks, from woodworking and metalworking to construction or maintenance. This individual will be responsible for performing high-quality, precise work in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Use of Power Tools: Operate and maintain various power tools, such as drills, saws, sanders, grinders, and other specialized equipment, to complete tasks with precision and quality.

• Material Handling: Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials (wood, metal, plastic, etc.) according to blueprints, designs, or work orders, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

• Fabrication & Assembly: Fabricate custom components, structures, or products as required, utilizing power tools and hand tools. Ensure that all parts are cut and shaped to precise specifications.

• Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure all aspects of the project meet or exceed company standards and client specifications. Make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and precision.

• Safety & Maintenance: Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear when operating power tools. Regularly inspect tools for wear and tear, performing routine maintenance to keep equipment in optimal working condition.

• Problem-Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify issues with materials or tools and recommend solutions to ensure work proceeds smoothly. Resolve problems efficiently while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship.

• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with other team members, including designers, project managers, and other craftsmen, to ensure tasks are completed on time and to specifications. Communicate effectively to clarify project requirements and timelines.

• Project Management: Assist with the planning and scheduling of tasks, and provide input on estimating materials and labor needs. Ensure all work is completed within budget and on schedule.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of [X] years of hands-on experience as a craftsman or skilled tradesperson using power tools in a [construction, woodworking, metalworking, etc.] environment.

• Skills:

  • Proficient in the safe operation of power tools and machinery.
  • Strong understanding of building codes, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform manual labor in varying work environments.

• Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Certification or apprenticeship in a related trade is a plus.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Experience with specialized power tools for specific trades (e.g., routers, lathes, CNC machines, welding equipment).
• Familiarity with advanced construction or fabrication techniques.
• Ability to train or mentor junior craftsmen and apprentices.

Work Environment:
The craftsman will work in various settings, including construction sites, workshops, or manufacturing environments, where safety is a priority. Flexibility to work indoors and outdoors, depending on the nature of the projects, is essential.

Compensation:
