From your PASSION to ours
We are a small legal department. The General Counsel and the Senior Corporate Counsel currently support all legal aspects of the Lactalis Heritage Dairy (“LHD”) business, including its KRAFT and CRACKER BARREL natural cheese business and its KNUDSEN and BREAKSTONE cultured business. These two attorneys look forward to welcoming a dynamic paralegal to the department, who will work on routine agreements, corporate filings, matter management, and budget management. The Paralegal will also work on a range of special projects, some of which are listed below, but others of which are as yet unforeseen. These projects will benefit the law department but will also involve extensive interaction with other LHD functions, such as Finance, Sales, HR, Quality, and Supply Chain.
From your EXPERTISE to ours
Key responsibilities for this position include
The Paralegal will work closely with the Senior Corporate Counsel on special projects, including (for example):
- Implementation of LHD’s contract lifecycle management platform;
- Monitoring of private sustainability initiatives and municipal and state sustainability laws and regulations as they might impact LHD’s business
- Researching other proposed legislation that might impact LHD’s business
- Proposing process-flow improvements to increase the cross-functional efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department
The Paralegal’s day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and revising routine agreements (with attorney supervision), such as confidentiality agreements and vendor agreements
- Preparing routine corporate governance documents and state filings (with attorney supervision)
- Tracking spend against the law department’s budget, including by preparing related reports
- Updating internal matter management database (with attorney input and oversight)
- Review, verify, and process outside counsel invoices
- Perform additional legal research, as needed
