What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Marketing position at Lafayette Aviators?
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
STATUS: Full Time
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
REPORTS TO: General Manager
SUPERVISES: Public Address Announcer / DJ / Scoreboard Graphics Operator / Camera Operators
PRIMARY DUTIES:
Game Presentation
- Responsible with the Director of Community Outreach for creating and maintaining proper stadium atmosphere.
- Responsible for implementation and execution of all game day operations visible in the seating bowl including scoreboard graphics and line score, sound system (music and announced) and on-field activities (pre-game, in-game, post-game).
- Supervises the game execution from the control room by serving as the ‘game director’ via the game script and communication with Director of Community Outreach, camera operators and on-field entertainers.
- Develop and produce all video board content (fan entertainment, sponsor elements, player features) including videos and graphics.
- Responsible with full time staff for hiring and supervising the following part-time game operation employees –
· Videoboard graphics operators
· Camera operators
· Public address / DJ
- Responsible with the Director of Community Outreach for supervising and managing the execution of all in-game events / contests, between inning promotions, pre-game ceremonies, etc.
- With seasonal and part-time personnel rehearse all game presentation elements so that these activities are properly delivered to the audience.
Graphics / Social Media
- As directed, creates all and fulfills all Team publishing, internet, digital and graphic design needs including the production of all in-house publications including ticket and group flyers, game program, game tickets, print ads, etc.
- As directed executes the Team’s email marketing strategy via the Mail Chimp app including the creation of content for marketing emails
- Responsible for the development, maintenance (current content and accuracy) of Team’s website.
- With ownership, develops social media strategy across all platforms including postings / content, contests and monitoring and responding to social media activity by fans.
- Responsible for all pre-game and post-game social media posts
- Responsible for the scheduling and scripting of all player head shots and promotional videos.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Proficient with Tricaster system or similar software
- Proficient with Motion Rocket software or similar software
- Proficient with Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software
- Proficient with Adobe Illustrator or similar software
- Proficient with Word Press
- Demonstrated experience and expertise with stadium videoboard presentation and operations
- Demonstrated experience and expertise with Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat, Tik Tok and Twitter
