What are the responsibilities and job description for the Exam Proctor – Part Time position at Lafayette College?

The Academic Resource Hub is seeking 2 part-time Coordinator/Proctors to assist in the delivery of proctoring services for the 2024-2025 Academic Year for approximately 20 hours per week per position. The Coordinator/Proctor works closely with students with disabilities and Hub staff to ensure that course exams and other timed assessments are proctored in accordance with faculty guidelines and each student’s approved accommodation plan. The Coordinator/Proctor will fulfill the following duties:
- Receive assessments to be completed from faculty or the department mailbox; connect assessments to proctoring forms, and check proctoring conditions for consistency
- Add requests for proctoring to the shared calendar with specific attention focused on space availability and accuracy of accommodations
- Greet students who are reporting to the Hub for assessments, check them into the Hub following specific protocols to prepare and administer exams
- Ensuring that approved accommodations are available and fulfilled on a case by case basis
- Monitor Hub space allocation/room usage and assist in managing the scheduling of spaces
- Observe students taking exams ensuring compliance with exam guidelines as well as academic integrity policies
- Collect completed exams and materials and file for faculty pick-up
- Assist in enforcement of all College policies and procedures
Minimum Qualifications
Requires an Associate’s degree or equivalent in education and experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in an educational setting
Strong technology skills; proficiency with Google Suite (Calendar, Docs, Drive, GMail, Sheets), Microsoft Office Suite,
An aptitude for and willingness to learn new technology
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
The ability to exercise sound judgment under pressure
Provide assistance as needed and manage unexpected situations independently.
The position may require early mornings and/or evenings at times to administer exams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with individuals experiencing various disabilities
Experience working with college students
An understanding of adaptive technology
Hours: Monday – Friday 9am – 1pm (position 1)
Monday – Friday 1pm – 5pm (position 2)
- Additional hours during final exam period
