Overview
Lagestic LLC is seeking hard-working and reliable Field Technicians to join our environmental services team responsible for executing critical encampment cleanup and vegetation trimming projects throughout levee corridors in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. This is a hands-on role supporting public safety, environmental restoration, and compliance with regional flood management requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encampment Cleanup
- Remove trash, debris, and abandoned materials from encampment sites.
- Dismantle and properly dispose of temporary structures such as tents and wooden frames.
- Operate hand and power tools (rakes, shovels, pickaxes, etc.) to safely clear sites.
- Ensure proper sorting and documentation of waste types for reimbursement.
Vegetation Trimming
- Trim, cut, and remove invasive plants, weeds, and overgrowth to maintain visibility and levee integrity.
- Use brush cutters, chainsaws, weed whackers, and other motorized trimming equipment.
- Follow site-specific safety and environmental preservation protocols, especially in protected habitats.
Site Access & Safety
- Support safe access to levee corridors by removing light vegetation to facilitate equipment movement.
- Identify and report hazardous conditions, such as needles, sharp objects, and encampment activity.
- Wear appropriate PPE and follow all OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and agency-specific safety protocols.
Logistics & Documentation
- Track dump tickets, material quantities, and disposal weights for invoicing and client reimbursements
- Provide before/after photo documentation and incident reporting.
- Must be savy with a smart phone
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in groundskeeping, vegetation management, construction, or environmental cleanup.
- Experience with landscaping or field equipment (chainsaws, weed eaters, walk-behind brush cutters).
- Ability to lift 75 lbs and work outdoors in rugged, uneven terrain and various weather conditions.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to staging areas.
- Comfortable working around individuals experiencing homelessness in a respectful and professional manner.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- Experience Operating Heavy Equipment is a plus
- Valid driver's license (CDL/Class A HIGHLY Preferred)
- Clean driving record (Required)
- Valid social security or individual taxpayer identification number
- Safely back up a trailer (Required)
- Unafraid of getting your hands dirty
- Bias for action and finding solutions (Do NOT apply if you move slowly or lack urgency.)
- Ability to complete work without supervision
Additional Information:
- Work will be conducted Monday through Friday for this initial project.
- Travel between multiple job sites may be required.
- Tools, safety gear, and uniforms are provided.

Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
