Rehabilitation Director

Job Summary:
The Rehab Director is responsible for managing and supervising the rehabilitation department to meet residents’ needs, the company’s fiscal requirements and federal and state regulations. The Rehab Director will achieve specific patient care, employee relations, customer service and financial objectives through strong leadership and effective management of staff, customers and referral resources.

Duties:

• Assign resident caseload and other responsibilities to staff.
• Maintains a patient caseload of 65% productive.
• Supervises, orients, trains, evaluates and counsels department employees to improve their job performance and to maintain high standards of care.
• Assists with hiring and terminating department employees.
• Facilitates Lagniappe Rehabilitation center specific policies and procedures for the department and assures employee compliance.
• Ensures compliance with a medical records system that:
• Is accurate and concise;
• Meets government and third party payer requirements;
• Minimizes duplication;
• Reflects a clear picture of the resident’s problems, the therapist’s intervention, and the residents’ outcomes.
• Communicates and coordinates department function with other services in a constructive manner that helps build team rapport and effectiveness.
• Communicates effectively with administration regarding department programs, goals, objectives, problems and successes.
• Assures that the department complies with Lagniappe Rehabilitation and facility policies and procedures.
• Communicates effectively to the public and to medical personnel outside the center regarding the therapy services offered by Lagniappe Rehabilitation.
• Participates in utilization review, quality assurance, resident care conferences, admission meetings, department head meetings, community education planning and rehabilitation conferences.
• Responsible for revenue and expense controls to meet budgetary requirements.
• Establishes goals and objectives for the department and implements plans to accomplish them.
• Ensure clinicians report required MDS information accurately and on time.
• Some travel required.
• Identify, achieve and maintain quality of services.

Required Credentials:

• Licensed in the state as a therapist.
• Two (2) years of experience as a therapist.

Salary : $47,600 - $60,300
