We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented team member to float between multiple roles. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake processes, including verifying insurance information and updating medical records.
- Manage front desk operations including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and handling patient inquiries professionally.
- Correctly create invoices based on the patient visit and materials purchased. Accurately process and record payments.
- Support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms and sterilizing equipment.
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity assessments and other diagnostic procedures to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Assist patients in selecting eyewear by providing optical advice, explaining lens options, and performing retail sales of glasses and contact lenses.
- Educate patients about proper use of prescribed eyewear or contact lenses.
Experience
- One year of prior experience at an optometric or ophthalmology practice is required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to the eye, physiology concepts relevant to vision health, and clinic procedures is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR systems is preferred.
- Candidates that have experience with front desk procedures, optician duties, and optometric technician skills will be given priority.
- Candidates should demonstrate excellent patient care skills, professionalism in handling sensitive information under HIPAA guidelines, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience with medical billing or coding related to ophthalmic services is a plus but not required. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
