What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visitor Services Clerk position at Lake County Forest Preserve District?
SUMMARY
The Visitor Services Clerk at the Dunn Museum is focused on museum front desk operations, museum store retail operations, and museum visitor experience. Greets and provides general information to the public, handling financial transactions. Opens and/or closes facility on a daily basis. Serves as onsite staff during Dunn Museum rentals and other District programs and events at the Museum. Executes emergency procedures; evaluates and facilitates appropriate visitor service safety procedures and security systems. Performs tasks that will require walking, bending, stooping, standing, kneeling, climbing, reaching and sitting. Performs lifting tasks up to 50 pounds. The Visitor Services Clerk will be required to work weekend days and some evenings.
EXPERIENCE
One-year experience in museum visitor services, public reception, customer service, cash handling, merchandising or other related position. Customer service and communication skills necessary to provide a positive experience for the public. General computer skills including using word processing and point of sale software and other general office equipment. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Salary : $19 - $29
