What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Advocate position at Lake-Geauga United Head Start, Inc.?
This position is vacant starting in August for the 2024-2025 school year. The Family Advocate provides support to families and children in their attempts to attain self-sufficiency and kindergarten readiness by serving as a liaison between families, staff and the local community. Primary duties include:
- Recruiting and enrolling eligible families.
- Acting as the primary contact person for enrolled families
- Assisting with the development and achievement of family goals.
- Maintaining all files and information in a confidential manner.
Family Advocates work during the school year, from early August through the end of May. Candidates must have a high school diploma and experience working with children and/or families, and must either have or be willing to obtain a credential or certificate in Case Management or a related field within 18 months of hire; Associate or Bachlor's Degree preferred. Starting wage is dependent upon qualifications.

Pay: $14.66 - $18.14 per hour
