What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doctor's Assistant position at Lake Havasu Family Eyecare?
We are looking for a detail-oriented optometric assistant to perform customer service, clerical, and technical services to assist the optometrist. The optometric assistant's responsibilities include greeting customers, collecting medical history, and performing tests to assist the Optometrist. Clerical responsibilities include documenting patient histories, communicating with patients about exams and prescriptions, scheduling patients and interoffice communication.
To be a successful optometric assistant, you should have strong organizational and communication skills. You should demonstrate strong attention to detail, and a good working knowledge of optometric equipment and its uses.
- Greeting customers, answering questions, and obtaining preliminary patient histories.
- Preparing patients for vision examinations, such as administering eye drops and performing pretesting prior to exam.
- Assisting with vision examinations, such as taking visual acuity measurements.
- Educating patients on the proper eye and contact lens care.
- Assisting patients with contact lens orders.
- Assist call center with scheduling questions.
All positions have different levels that make it possible to grow with the practice.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $17.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
