What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career Technology Instructor position at Lake Land College?
Full-time, 12 month, grant funded position for Lake Land College at East Moline Correctional Center, East Moline, IL. 4 Day Work Week (Tuesday-Friday). 7:00 AM-5:00PM. Responsibilities include providing life skills instruction, (basic computer skills, job search, and personal finance) as well as student advisement and data collection. Bachelor degree required, teaching experience preferred.
Under the general direction of the Associate Dean,performs responsible functions in the development,coordination and maintenance of a meaningful,consistent statewide training and development program for Job Preparedness instruction.The main responsibility is to teach an intensive job preparation curriculum and build a bridge for continued services in the community to offenders preparing for Mandatory Supervised Release. (Parole)
Education: Bachelor Degree Required.
Experience: Teaching experience preferred.
Knowledge: Knowledge of job search techniques preferred.
Skills Must be able to instruct incarcerated adults in the area of job preparation and employment searches.
Personal: Good Interpersonal Skills.
Physical: Ability to perform general classroom activities.Drug Test Required.
Machines and equipment used: Duplicating Machine,Computer,VCR
