What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auditorium Technician position at Lake Orion?

The Auditorium Technician will work on a wide variety of events in the Auditorium, supervise LOHS Theatre students working on productions, and assist with maintenance and upkeep of the Auditorium.
Qualifications:
Skills/experience (required):
- 1 years of technical theatre experience
- Ability to pass a background check to work with students
- 18 years old
Skills/experience (preferred):
- BFA in Theatre Design and Technology, or similar degree
- Experience in education, ideally with high school students
- Stage lighting setup/focus (ETC Ion experience a plus)
- Stage audio setup, live audio mixing (Midas M32 and QLab experience a plus)
- Counterweight rigging experience (single purchase fly system)
- Scenic painting techniques
- Set construction/design
- Costume construction
Duties:
During events:
- Supervise renters in Auditorium
- Run light board or sound board
- Move scenery backstage (including operation of fly system)
- Manage backstage areas
- Assist with event setup and takedown, including orchestra shell
LOHS Theatre Productions:
- Work with LOHS students during rehearsals on lighting, sound, set construction, painting, props, costumes, makeup
- Supervise students during shows
Other tasks:
- Assist with auditorium maintenance and upkeep, equipment repairs, and various projects
Schedule/Hours:
Generally weekday afternoons during LOHS productions. Will include some evenings/weekends for events, with a flexible schedule at other times.
