What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auditorium Technician position at Lake Orion?

Start date: ASAP


The Auditorium Technician will work on a wide variety of events in the Auditorium, supervise LOHS Theatre students working on productions, and assist with maintenance and upkeep of the Auditorium.


Qualifications:

Skills/experience (required):

  • 1 years of technical theatre experience
  • Ability to pass a background check to work with students
  • 18 years old

Skills/experience (preferred):

  • BFA in Theatre Design and Technology, or similar degree
  • Experience in education, ideally with high school students
  • Stage lighting setup/focus (ETC Ion experience a plus)
  • Stage audio setup, live audio mixing (Midas M32 and QLab experience a plus)
  • Counterweight rigging experience (single purchase fly system)
  • Scenic painting techniques
  • Set construction/design
  • Costume construction


Duties:

During events:

  • Supervise renters in Auditorium
  • Run light board or sound board
  • Move scenery backstage (including operation of fly system)
  • Manage backstage areas
  • Assist with event setup and takedown, including orchestra shell

LOHS Theatre Productions:

  • Work with LOHS students during rehearsals on lighting, sound, set construction, painting, props, costumes, makeup
  • Supervise students during shows

Other tasks:

  • Assist with auditorium maintenance and upkeep, equipment repairs, and various projects

Schedule/Hours:

Generally weekday afternoons during LOHS productions. Will include some evenings/weekends for events, with a flexible schedule at other times.

Salary : $29,200 - $37,000
