Shift: 12 hr shifts every Saturday and Sunday Nights 1 addl shift

Pay Rate: Min $16.44 Mid $18.91 Position Summary

Must effectively interact with patients, families and other health team members. Must perform a variety of clerical duties, admitting/discharging and transfer of patients within the electronic system, scheduling/coordinating work within department and with other departments, providing receptionist duties, maintaining/ordering department supplies, reporting pertinent information to supervisors, and responding to inquiries and requests for information.

Standard Work Duties: Health Unit Coordinator

Processes information for new admissions and transfers accurately to expedite patient throughput

. Perform Clerical/Receptionist duties to reflect strong customer service to our patients, families and team members.

Demonstrate knowledge of equipment and technology necessary to complete duties and responsibilities for effective throughput and patient safety.

Processes information for discharges to ensure a safe and efficient discharge

Promotes stewardship by maintaining appropriate par levels for supplies needed on the clinical unit.

Demonstrates knowledge of environment of care regulatory requirements for the clinical setting.

Maintains patient safety, comfort, confidentiality and privacy, adheres to HIPAA standards

Competencies & Skills

Essential:

• Customer service training
• Strong time management skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer/typing skills
• Effective reading, written and verbal communication skills

Nonessential:

• Successful completion of Health Unit Coordinator program or related clinical or medical support experience
