Lakeshore Bone & Joint Institute is seeking a Registration Specialist who is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the reception area including greeting patients and visitors, registration, check-in and checkout, answering questions, and providing direction as appropriate. As the Registration Specialist you are an integral part of the team, and can make a difference in the lives of patients.

- Strong experience in customer OR patient service. (Healthcare experience NOT required)
- Ability to work in a patient-oriented team environment.
- Ability to greet patients with a warm, energetic, and friendly disposition, and has an efficient work ethic
Key Responsibilities
· Print and review the provider’s schedule daily
· Maintain general tidiness of the waiting areas
· Verify patient insurance and demographics at each appointment
· Scan insurance cards and valid photo ID into the EMR
· Schedule follow-up appointments for patients
· Collect co-pays, surgery deposits and account balances from patients when applicable
· Coordinate patient care regarding pre-operative and post-operative needs, i.e. crutch training, braces, and DME application
· Scan checks into LBJI banking system
· Scan End of Day paperwork; DME/ABN paperwork; Registration Payment Worksheets into appropriate e-folders or deliver paperwork to the appropriate area of the building
