Overview:
The Access Registration Specialist assists in communications and provides support to clinical personnel under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer. The Eligibility and Referral Specialist provides analysis of work processes to improve outcomes and services to meet information needs and drive improvement activities.
-This position will also work as front desk back up for our Brainerd office as needed.
Qualifications:
- Have work experience in administration or human services.
- Be 18 years of age.
- Ability to successfully complete MN Dept of Human Services background study.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Register patients, schedule ongoing appointments and answer incoming phone calls.
- Activate or deactivate insurance information based upon finding when eligibility is run.
- Communicates with outside agencies regarding referrals for Mental Health and Substance Use.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of Federal, State, County, and internal regulations and policies related to billing. Including 245G and federal billing requirements.
- Complete scheduled claims processing.
- Ongoing follow up of outstanding referral and pending registrations.
- Timely resolution to outstanding referrals and final disposition of referral tracking in the intake worksheet.
- Maintain the accuracy of the Provider Availability list and communicate provider changes to the Access Front Desk Specialists
- Work to ensure clients are fully registered and connected to services in a timely manner.
- Oversee the eligibility check process monthly and coordinate with Access Front Desk Specialist for timely completion of eligibility checks.
- Answer incoming phone calls.
- Serve as a backup for Access Front Desk as needed.
- Timely response to internal and external customers
- Verify client demographic information at each encounter with the client.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of insurance, insurance regulations, deductibles, copayments and provider eligibility.
- Enter accurate insurance information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Develop and maintain knowledge of HIPAA and compliance standards.
- Create and maintain a safe and positive environment that is supportive of those seeking behavioral health services.
- Basic office housekeeping related duties as applicable to work location.
- Adhere to Lakeview Behavioral Health policy and procedures.
