Role Description
This is a contract role for an Adjunct Instructor to teach courses at Texas State University in San Marcus or another TXST site as scheduled and actively engage with students in the learning process. As an adjunct instructor, you will organize and facilitate class sessions in an 8-week, hybrid model utilizing TXST and LSCO resources, including a LSCO liaison, instructional designers, department chair, curriculum and textbook support, 24-hour access to Blackboard training and one-on-one consultation. The role is hybrid, located in San Marcos, TX, .

- Relevant teaching or industry experience is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Training, or a related field
Adjunct Instructors must be qualified and competent to teach applicable courses within the degree and certificate programs. Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend classes. This is not a posting for ONLINE instructors. Classes will be delivered at Texas State University in San Marcos or another TXST site.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner. Maintain ethical and professional behavior.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings virtually, assess courses on departmental and institutional levels.
- Complete required training, such as Blackboard Online Instructor Certification and Title IX Training, etc.
- Take advantage of the professional development opportunities offered by LSCO and Sam Houston State University (SHSU) Faculty Development Trainings to continually refine and improve professional knowledge and teaching skills.
- Adhere to the policies and procedures contained in LSCO’s Policies and Procedures Manuals
- Other related duties, as assigned.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Possess an earned Master’s degree in teaching discipline OR a master’s degree in any subject with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline
- Knowledge of teaching methodologies/pedagogical strategies
- Possess good time management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching in higher education is preferred
- Related field and/or industry certifications, if applicable
