Job Overview:
To produce accurate and detailed engineering drawings, ensuring high-quality CAD (Computer-Aided Design) output for Lamar's manufacturing and production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model or revise parts, assemblies, and full trailers using SOLIDWORKS.
- Create or revise detailed drawings of parts, assemblies, and full trailers in SOLIDWORKS.
- Generate DWG and DXF files for Plasma Tables.
- Conduct redline reviews of drawings created by other CAD Department members.
- Ensure all CAD work is completed by the assigned weekly deadlines.
Adherence to CAD Workflow Procedure:
- As a designer, checker, or for Final Approval, responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the workflow whiteboard.
- Managing work through the ticketing system.
- Keeping the Master List Document current.
- Following established Naming Conventions and File Structures.
- Ensuring Bill of Materials (BOMs) on drawings match the Lamar ERP system.
- Adhering to Lamar CAD standards and processes.
Teamwork and Communication:
- Collaborate with shop supervisors and employees in the creation or revision of parts, requiring time on the shop floor and in the trailer yard.
- Work closely with the BOM team to ensure drawings are accurate and current.
- Contribute to the CAD Department's team goals and objectives.
- Effectively communicate on assigned work, including:
- Gathering all necessary information from the employee who submitted the ticket.
- Documenting information in the ticketing system.
- Updating progress in the CAD Weekly Work Expectations spreadsheet.
- Keeping ticket creators informed about progress and completion times.
- Respecting the Focus Time of other employees by limiting non-essential conversation during these periods.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in SOLIDWORKS.
- Experience with creating and revising engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet weekly deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
