Student Assistant, Welcome Center (LU Crew)

The Welcome Center is seeking enthusiastic and professional LU Crew members to serve as campus tour guides and front-line representatives for Lamar University. LU Crew members conduct campus tours, assist with Admissions and Welcome Center operations, and support university events such as Cardinal View and Orientation.

• Conduct engaging campus tours for prospective students, families, and visitors
• Manage the Admissions phone queue and respond professionally to university inquiries
• Cover the Welcome Center front desk and greet campus visitors
• Assist with logging and distributing mail for Admissions
• Provide support for major events such as Cardinal View and Orientation
• Assist with event setup, prep, and logistics as needed
• Represent Lamar University with enthusiasm, professionalism, and school pride
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Must be a current Lamar University student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, dependable, and customer service oriented
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced and highly visible campus environment

• Prior experience in customer service, hospitality, or campus involvement
• Knowledge of Lamar University’s campus, resources, and traditions
• Bilingual or multilingual communication skills a plus

• Ability to walk for extended periods during campus tours
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs for event setup as needed
