What We Need From You
The Title Officer in Residential provides advanced expertise in the Title Examiner function and is relied upon by internal team members, segment partners, and external customers to be a higher-level decision-maker and to provide technical guidance during the production examination process and during the course of transactions. A Title Officer is expected to interact with leadership, support teams, segment partners, and underwriters as necessary to navigate and articulate explanations and solutions for complex issues that may be a barrier to closing and the issuance of a policy of title insurance. Additionally, a Title Officer may be called upon as a technical resource for the preparation and/or instruction of educational materials for both internal and external use, and other duties that assist in the development of team members.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to customer telephone, and email inquiries. Provide technical expertise to customer inquiries adhering to company and underwriting guidelines without assistance from the manager.

- Serve as a mentor to examiners, searchers, and title assistants by providing technical guidance and answers to questions regarding all closing and post-closing matters.
- Review the contents of a file for accuracy; perform any additional searches for all documents affecting property according to standard underwriting searching guideline stopping points.
- Examine the chain of title to underwriting stopping point; identify problems and note requirements for correcting title to assure timely issuance of title products.
- Consult with internal customers for verification of facts and details involving the property; take responsibility for customer satisfaction.
- Request corrections to close documents according to company and underwriting guidelines.
- Maintain communication with working relationships with all customers, departments, and underwriter(s) for file completion.
- Attend training for knowledge and skill opportunities.
- Attend department meetings to establish teamwork and gather technical and corporate information.
- Maintain and protect corporate security by applying cybersecurity practices in daily decision-making and processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Active Colorado Title License or the expectation of obtaining a Colorado Title Producers License in 90 days with the company.
- Seven to ten years title examination experience preferred.
- A High School diploma or equivalent. College degree preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of legal and real estate terminology, underwriting practices and related title insurance processes used in the preparation of title insurance products.
- Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills
- Solid working knowledge of business software suites such as Microsoft or Google.
- Solid working knowledge of title production software such as TIMS, TIMS imaging, Tub Card View, MapDraw, PropertySync, Value Check, Property Search, Apollo, and Blueprint.
- Advanced knowledge of legal and real estate terminology.
Compensation:
- The salary for this position is $48,000 - $61,000 annually. In accordance with Colorado state law, this position is non-exempt and all overtime will be paid at time and a half.

- Annual employee profit-sharing bonus, based upon company performance.
