Landis Landscaping, Inc. is hiring an Experienced Landscaping Manager. We are a growing landscaping company operating in the Lancaster/Ephrata area and surrounding counties. This position comes with a company vehicle supplied. Hours are primarily Monday - Friday with some weekends and evenings as needed. Competitive salary with benefits offered, including medical / dental / vision insurance, paid holidays, and paid time off.

Job Duties include:

• Planning, designing, and implementing landscaping projects for residential and commercial landscapes.
• Assist in preparation of weekly work schedules and assign work orders to appropriate team members or crews daily - for example: scheduling spring and fall clean ups, weekly lawn mowing and weeding, pruning / trimming, mulching and lawn treatments.
• Scheduling and conducting customer site visits to discuss the scope and details of the project.
• Estimating costs for labor and materials needed for projects, and estimating the time and resources required to complete projects for the purpose of creating customer proposals.
• Establishing and maintaining plants, trees, shrubs, and other vegetation in accordance with environmental regulations and according to plan.
• Maintaining inventory of supplies, equipment, and machinery needed for work activities.
• Work in the field and the office, providing hands-on implementation of work as a mentor and an example for the rest of the team.
• Manage daily operation of Landscaping Teams including, but not limited to, work order assignments, materials delivery coordination, installation, and labor oversite.
• Assist with interview and hiring process
• Identify staff training needs and assist with development of training programs, including plant care and maintenance, proper use of tools and equipment, safety issues, etc.
• Assist in management and oversite of snow and ice removal operations.
• Other duties/responsibilities as assigned.

Skills & Requirements (Required)

• A minimum of five years of related work experience, including at least three years of supervisory experience.
• Considerable knowledge of horticulture and grounds maintenance.
• Understanding of proper pruning techniques, plant care, turf management, planting, perennial and annual care, as well as native plants.
• Work outside for long periods of time in unfavorable conditions (at times). Perform strenuous manual labor requiring considerable walking, lifting, reaching, climbing, stooping, pushing, pulling, and carrying. Work occasional weekends and evenings as needed.
• Ability to operate small power and hand tools as well as large equipment including mowers, tractors, loaders, woodchippers, chainsaws, plows, and other snow removal equipment.
• Flexibility to perform a variety of duties, often pivoting from one task to another of a different nature without loss of efficiency.
• Demonstrate natural leadership and the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and in writing) to establish, nurture and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, vendors, customers, and others in the workplace.
• Maintain professional appearance and attitude as this position is front facing to the customer base. Company apparel will be provided.
• Familiar and comfortable using email and Microsoft Office Suite and/or online estimating tools.
• Visual illustration software and/or ability to provide visual sketches or renderings.
• Valid Driver's License in good standing.
• Pennsylvania DOT Medical Card - if you do not have one, you must have the ability to pass this basic physical.

Skills and Requirements (Preferred but not Required)

• Understanding of irrigation systems’ operation and installation.
• Certifications: OSHA 10, Pesticide Application, Trimming and Pruning and any other Landscaping or Safety related certifications
• AutoCAD, Photoshop familiarity

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Ephrata, PA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Landscaping: 5 years (Preferred)
• Supervisory: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
