Position Summary:
Landscape Development Inc. is a leading landscape construction company in Southern California seeking a mid level landscape construction estimator to help build our high performance team. We are seeking a self-motivated, go-getter, with superb communication skill and familiarity with construction unit costs, assembles, and lump sum pricing. The estimator will work closely with the sales team members to meet goals and support our company growth. As our company expands its leadership position in Southwest, we seek individuals striving to grow and succeed themselves. Location: Fully Remote (Preference given to those residing in CA, NV, ID, CO, TX,TN and FL)
* On boarding will occur in Valencia, CA.
* Travel - Approximately 4 times a year with duration up to a week
Responsibilities include:
- Review plans, general conditions, schedules, scopes of work, site logistics and other exhibits
- Prepare organized and complete takeoffs
- Request and obtain quotes for all scope from multiple vendors and sub-contractors
- Enters takeoff information and quotes into computer estimating system
- Analyze alternate means and methods to determine value engineering suggestions
- Draft proposal documents
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2-5 years of experience within the construction-estimating field or equivalent field experience
- Knowledge of plant and irrigation material, costs, and nursery sourcing
- Proficient in reading and understanding construction drawings
- Ability to gather, calculate, and compile take off data for bid use
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Proficient with On Center Software's On-Screen Takeoff (OST)
- Construction management background or higher education a bonus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $35.00 per hour
