Accounting Administrator

ACCOUNTING ADMINISTRATOR

Laney Recycling and Aggregate, located on Old Gunpowder Road in Laurel, MD, is searching for an Accounting Clerk. The Accounting Clerk must maintain a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and problem-solving skills.   Additionally, they must also possess strong attention to detail and communication skills.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Billing
• Managing accounts receivable processing and collections
• Accounts Payable Entry and payment processing
• Communicate with third parties regarding credit applications/customer payments
• Preparing bank deposits
• Credit Account Management
• Account Reconciliation and Business Metrics Tracking

 ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
• Ability to verify the mathematical accuracy of accounting documents
• Ability to multi-task between business operations
• Well organized, motivated, and able to work independently and as a part of a team
• Ability to handle multiple projects and manage time and workload
• Ability to sort/file accounting documentation
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

• Full-Time, Exempt Position
• Salary based on knowledge, experience, and education

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Office Environment located at the Recycling yard

WORKING HOURS/EXPECTATIONS:

• Monday - Friday
• This is an exempt position 

 PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
• Walk, bend, kneel, and twist
• Talk and hear
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds at times

EDUCATION:

• High school or equivalent is required.  An associate or a bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.

NON-ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prior construction industry accounting experience a plus
• Knowledge of Foundations software

 EXPERIENCE:

• Must have three (3) years experience in accounting functions
