SUMMARY To generate revenue for Lanier Islands via small meetings with overnight stays, day-meetings, tour & travel groups and rooms only blocks affiliated with other islands activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned
Conduct ongoing market research in order to stay in touch with the competition, client needs and marketing conditions.
Design packages consistent with the market needs.
Solicitation / creation of new sales leads, cold calling, direct mail,
Solicitation of repeat group business
Immediate and effective response to all inquiries
Achieving/producing revenue (to goal)
Create and generate professional proposals and contracts in response to leads, inquiries and prospecting efforts.
Building of long-term client relations.
Daily conversion of incoming inquiries, close client contracts, event detailing and the communication of event details to various departments
Limited weekend hours based upon client needs
ESSENTIAL DETAILING DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Daily communication/primary contact with clients after contract is signed.
Communicate customer/group needs to hotel/islands staff
Monitor and coordinate any outside vendor contracts for each group
Daily and weekly creation and processing of BEO(s) and resumes
Ensure accuracy in all correspondence including but not limited to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), resumes, contracts and proposals
Assist sales managers on daily inquiries, site tours or other sales activities in their absence.
Responsible for attending resume and BEO meetings with Banquets
Review all invoices and customer billing
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid drivers license and clean MVR for 3 years.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred Hotel Group Sales Experience.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficient in Word and Excel and Delphi
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
