Work Schedule: 5 days/week - 6.5 hours/day (0.8125 FTE)

Salary: Per appropriate placement on the LEA Hourly Scale (Starting at $16.86)

We’re hiring for: In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring a Student Support Assistant for Early Childhood Special Education students (ECSE) at Pleasant View. This position provides essential support to Special Education teachers, focused on providing services to much deserving individual students.

You have

• Required:
• One of the following (not all!):
• An Associate’s degree
• Proof of passing the WorkKeys Assessment in reading, writing, and math
• Proof of passing the ETS Parapro Assessment
• Proof of completion of 60 credit hours
• Commitment to Lansing School District’s mission and vision
• Recommended:
• A track record of success working with students with special education needs (especially ECSE students)
• A track record of perfect attendance and punctuality
• Previous training in CPI, blood borne diseases, Epi-pen and Diastat
• Previous experience working with students from diverse backgrounds that are different from your own

You will:

• Assist ECSE designated students with daily tasks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable school day
• Actively assist teachers at Pleasant View with facilitating and maintaining a safe and productive classroom environment
• To maintain a safe environment staff members must be alert at all times
• Log updates in the student data system
• Other tasks as needed to ensure the safety of students at Pleasant View
