Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing – Billerica, Massachusetts

We are looking for a strategic and results-oriented Vice President of Sales and Marketing to lead our global commercial efforts across our expanding portfolio of photonics products and solutions. This executive will be responsible for establishing a vision and strategy for both the sales and marketing functions, driving revenue growth, increasing market share, and enhancing our brand presence in key sectors.


The ideal candidate will have extensive industry experience in photonics, particularly in areas such as fiber optics, laser systems, optical sensors, or imaging technologies. They should possess a proven ability to translate technical advantages into tangible business benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Leadership

  • Create and implement comprehensive global sales and marketing strategies that align with the company's growth objectives.
  • Identify and segment target markets, channels, and customer personas across key industries (e.g., medical devices, aerospace and defense, semiconductors, industrial automation, and communications).
  • Take charge of strategic pricing, develop go-to-market plans, and lead efforts in revenue forecasting initiatives.


Sales Leadership

  • Increase revenue through strategic sales planning, performance management, and global channel expansion (direct, representative, and distribution).
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), system integrators, and key accounts.
  • Lead negotiations of significant or strategic deals and partnerships.


Marketing & Brand Development

  • Manage product marketing, digital campaigns, content strategy, trade shows, and lead generation programs.
  • Shape the company's messaging, brand position, and market presence as a photonics innovator.
  • Ensure tight alignment between sales, product management, and engineering to position products effectively and support launches.


Team Development & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Recruit, coach, and mentor high-performing sales and marketing teams across geographies.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership, R&D, and operations to ensure customer needs inform product roadmaps and service delivery.
  • Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards to monitor performance, pipeline health, and ROI.


Qualifications

Required

  • 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, or business development within the photonics or optics sector.
  • 5 years in a commercial leadership role with P&L accountability and demonstrated revenue growth.
  • Deep familiarity with at least one of the following: fiber optics, lasers, optical sensors, and imaging systems.
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to engage both technical buyers and senior decision-makers.
  • Experience managing global teams and scaling commercial operations.
  • Willingness to travel (domestically and internationally) as needed.


Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Physics, Optics, or related technical field; MBA or equivalent business leadership training strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), marketing automation platforms, and digital demand generation tools.
  • Existing network within photonics OEMs, integrators, or system builders.
