The Natural Resources Department is looking for temporary ANS Supervisors to join our team!
Natural Resources manages Larimer County's great outdoor places, including open spaces and magnificent water-based recreation areas, and fosters responsible land stewardship through weed management and healthy forest practices. The Department of Natural Resources has 40 benefited employees and 125 seasonal and part time employees.
Our mission is to establish, protect, and manage significant regional parks and open lands providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities and stewardship of natural resource values. We are committed to fostering a sense of community and appreciation for the natural and agricultural heritage of Larimer County for present and future generations. Larimer County Department of Natural Resources is seeking a skilled and talented individual to join our team.
This is a temporary position that is expected to last up to 10 months. Additionally, t his position may work nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities
What you'll be doing:
- Supervise positions, employees, operations, and activities within the assigned unit, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
- Develop and manage the assigned budget.
- Maintain aquatic nuisance species (ANS) records and provide detailed reports as needed.
- Serve as the liaison between Larimer County Department of Natural Resources (LCDNR) and the Colorado Parks and Wildlife ANS Coordinator.
- Collaborate with District Managers and the LCDNR Public Relations Specialist to update visitors on boating hours and changes to ANS operations.
- Oversee the cleanliness and operations of ANS shelters, and report maintenance needs to the district maintenance supervisor.
- Order, stock, and maintain ANS supplies.
- Manage radios, iPads, and other electronic devices needed for the ANS program.
- Train seasonal boat inspectors on proper decontamination techniques to avoid damaging engines or other parts of the boat.
- Conduct visitor contact and safety training; work with park rangers to develop curriculum and train ANS workers.
- Inspect boats launching from and leaving Carter Lake and Horsetooth Reservoir for aquatic invasive species to prevent their spread. Quarantine and decontaminate infected vessels when necessary.
- Educate visitors on aquatic invasive species and prevention initiatives; explain rules and regulations and distribute educational materials.
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of the Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) program.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service abilities.
- Awareness and application of proper safety precautions.
- Supervisory skills, including an understanding of financial management.

- Successful completion of the Aquatic Nuisance Species training program and exam within 1 month of hire required.
- Must be at least 16 years of age required.
