A 64-bed adult psychiatric facility Lasting Hope Recovery Center is a place of healing. All of the rooms are private. At Lasting Hope Recovery Center patients find comfort and a team of caring professionals working for them. Often mental illness and substance abuse occur at the same time. CHI Health Lasting Hope Recovery Center offers an entire range of treatment and prevention services to meet the needs of patients experiencing both challenges. Treatment is built on personal strengths and support systems that treat individuals experiencing these illnesses.

Responsibilities

As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you focus on providing direct behavioral support and supportive services to patients with disruptions in function as a result of mental illness and/or substance abuse.
Services are provided with a focus on managing the therapeutic milieu and developing skills for environmental, financial, social, occupational, spiritual, intellectual, and emotional wellbeing. You will work
with a team of clinical professionals to implement a care plan that is tailored to each patient's needs. The BSS promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of CommonSpirit

  • Encourages an environment where patients can solve problems and try out new behaviors while supporting the development of uniqueness and acceptable self-expression in a trauma-informed care setting.
  • Provides appropriate emergency care and maintains a safe environment. Maintains a secure environment and acts as a resource for emergency situations.
  • Provides trauma informed care and supervision to patients needing physical restraints or seclusion room.
  • Effectively communicates in a multicultural context using both verbal and written techniques.

Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or Mental Health Tech certification
  • BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire

Pay Range
$15.49 - $21.30 /hour
