Production Planner/Scheduler

OVERVIEW

As the Production Planner/Scheduler, this person will establish, manage, and maintain a valid Master Production Schedule for the selected family of products. The PPS will collaborate with other functional teams to ensure customer expectations and requirements are met. Additionally, they will determine the impact of daily customer orders and adjust the daily production schedule to ensure maximum order fulfillment. The PPS will work with external and internal cross functional stakeholders to develop and implement short and mid-term tactical improvements. The success of this role will be measured by the on-time delivery metrics delivered to the client.

CORE RESPONSIBILITES

  • Receive, analyze, and verify customer demand accurately as required by customers.
  • Maintain and use information in Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to quantify outgoing finished product needs, set completion due dates, schedule, and communicate level production load in assembly cells.
  • Apply SIOP (long-range, demand, supply, capacity planning) to all areas of operations and participate in review discussions.
  • Track production output finished goods inventory and customer shipments as needed, counter-measuring and escalating any risk of failure to full, on-time shipment of ordered product.
  • Communicate and interface with inside sales to ensure demand information is accurate and verified and correctly entered and maintained in enterprise MRP and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.
  • Receive communications from customers and respond as needed.
  • Track, monitor, record, and report KPIs: Master Schedule Respect Ratio, Delivery Service Attainment, Finished Good Inventory, and Premium Freight and others as needed.
  • Minimize, communicate, countermeasure, and escalate production output variation and failure to meet due date commitments reliably and fully.
  • Implement, follow, and improve material flow management processes, including the verification and reconciliation of discrepant or inaccurate product inventory.
  • Lead and assist to develop process improvements and implementing lean principles as they relate to material and product flow, including visual systems, Kanban, heijunka, demand flow / pull systems and others.
  • Communicate effectively and with an appropriate sense of urgency across all departments in the plant and with customers as needed regarding material and product flow issues.
  • Physically verify product stock in building as needed.
  • Manages plant load and capacity to schedule work centers and level load most effectively.
  • Updates the labor load rough cut capacity report and takes a lead role in facilitating weekly capacity planning meetings with Operations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • 1-2 years of relevant working experience in areas of supply chain or manufacturing is required.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required.
  • Strong Knowledge and Experience of MRP/ERP Systems.
  • Excellent collaboration skills required. Able to effectively interface at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of processes and technologies related to products manufactured within a given value stream.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • APICS CPIM/CSCP preferred.
  • Experience in ERP manufacturing Make-to-Order environment a plus.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean implementation a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
