What are the responsibilities and job description for the QBHP/Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) position at Laugh and Learn Therapy LLC?
POSITION SUMMARY:
The QBHP/BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is primarily responsible for conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior plans based on these assessments. The QBHP/BCBA is to ensure the effective implementation of all treatment plans and programming for their clients as described by the fundamental responsibilities.
RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES:
- Adheres to professional and legal requirements, the principles of behavior analysis and demonstrates sound professional judgment at all times
- Willing to collaborate with other services (PT, OT, Speech) that their clients are provided
- Collaborates with families, caregivers and all service providers as necessary to ensure continuity of care
- Performs direct and indirect assessments to identify the function of client’s behaviors
- Develops a treatment plan (including behavior support plan) based on the functions of the behavior and treatment methodologies that are evidence-based
- Attends all relevant meetings for clients, including treatment team meetings, IEP/ISP (as allowed/needed)
- Adequately demonstrates their abilities to work effectively as a part of a clinical team
- Attends insurance authorization review calls for their clients
- Collects data before and during the implementation of the plan so that the plan’s efficacy can be assessed and data-based decisions can be made
- Provides direct instruction/ongoing supervision, training and support to clients, staff members and family members
- Evaluates the effectiveness of the implemented treatment plan and modifies the plan as necessary
- Upon receiving information from the Lead Clinical Supervisor, the BCBA will initiate services with new clients in a timely manner
- Manages, prepares and submits all required documentation on time (includes, but is not limited to: assessments, treatment plans/BSPs, insurance updates as required, session notes after every session, at least monthly analysis of the data, updating the treatment plans as needed, participation in calls with insurance companies, etc.)
- Communicates regularly and works closely with the Lead Clinical Supervisor
- Supervises & monitors progress of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs) (includes practicum students)
- Conducts ABA Technician’s Annual Evaluations & Goal Setting
- Responsible for submitting authorizations, requesting adjustments, assessments & treatments to insurance carriers for approval

- Must maintain a professional appearance with regard to clothing, grooming, hair and make-up
BASIC & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and carry clients with adaptive equipment
- Ability to work with a variety of clients in regard to age, functionality, and with minimal direction
- Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods of time
- Must be able to sit on the floor or stand for extended periods of time
- Must be willing and able to hold/transport and utilize quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan in the course of working with children with challenging behavior
- Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic device functions for data collection
- Must be physically present at assigned job location
- Must be able to receive detailed information through oral communication
- Must have visual acuity to read and comprehend written communication through computer, electronic devices and paper means
- Must have reliable transportation
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in implementing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
EDUCATION:
- Must have MA degree in related field and BCBA certification number (certification must be kept up to date)

RELATED TRAINING:
Responsible for completing and maintaining all required certifications and trainings once employed; including, but not limited to: CPR, CPI/QBS, etc… trainings and other company in-services and trainings as directed by the.
