What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shelter advocate position at Laurel House?
Laurel House is dedicated to the vision of ending domestic violence in each life, home and community.
Laurel House is looking for several relief staff who have the passion for advocating for and empowering those impacted by domestic violence.
An Advocate will provide supportive services and advocacy to adults and their children who have experienced domestic violence.
This position is part-time providing coverage on an as-need basis , working unscheduled hours when the need arises for a 24 / 7 shelter.
Fleeing an abusive partner can be one of the most dangerous times for a victim of domestic violence. Each year there are 150-200 victims nd their children that come through the Laurel House shelter.
Our highly skilled staff work with victims and their families, helping them to find the strength to stand on their own. Our shelter offers a safe and nurturing environment where victims can heal and move forward.
