We are looking for two legal assistants/calendar clerks for a small boutique law firm.

Objectives of this role

  • Support attorneys in optimizing their work and time
  • Provide support to track deadlines to ensure legal documents are filed in a timely manner
  • Represent the organization with professionalism and integrity when dealing with clients and court officials
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of organizational and client information
  • Transfer data from paper formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders or optical scanners
  • Create spreadsheets and enter data without mistakes
  • Verify data by comparing it to source documents
  • Update existing data
  • Retrieve data from the database or electronic files as requested
  • Sort and organize paperwork after entering data to ensure it is not lost

Responsibilities

  • Manage diary and schedule meetings and appointments
  • Take dictation and minutes
  • Produce reports
  • Devise and maintain office filing system
  • Proofread/file/draft legal documents
  • Communicate with clients

Skills

  • MS Office and English proficiency
  • Organizing meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders, and organizing events when necessary
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem-solving and decision making
  • Proactivity and self-direction
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Fast typing skills; Knowledge of touch typing system is strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and computer hardware and peripheral devices
  • Great attention to detail
  • High school degree or equivalent

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
