LSAC is a not-for-profit corporation devoted to promoting and furthering the quality, access, and fairness of the law school admission process by providing core products and services to law school candidates and law schools in the United States and throughout the world. LSAC’s mission is to advance law and justice by encouraging diverse, talented individuals to study law and by supporting their enrollment and learning journeys from prelaw through practice.

 

Summary of Position: 

 

We are seeking a skilled React engineer to join our team. You will work as part of an autonomous agile team to develop features and applications to meet the needs of your product area. We are looking for a candidate with deep understanding of engineering best practices and a strong agile mindset. As lead, you are responsible to ensure the teams alignment with best practices, enterprise architecture and stakeholder satisfaction. In addition, this position will be responsible for operational maintenance, troubleshooting and support of applicable backend systems. We rely heavily on Azure Cloud services, and you will have the opportunity to work with new and interesting technology.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with partners within the company to design, configure, maintain, and promote a variety of internally- and externally facing applications that are used by a wide range of users, including people with disabilities  
  • Developing highly responsive, functional, and reusable components using React  
  • Working closely with design and backend developers to achieve business objectives  
  • Collaborate across Areas to ensure application reliability and coding to architectural standards.  
  • Connect with developers within your team to inspire and foster a continuous learning environment.  
  • Build and maintain scalable applications.  
  • Continuously monitor, test and optimize software.  
  • Contributes as part of the team by leveraging continuous delivery methods and test-driven development to frequently deliver new functionality.  
  • Responsible for delivering high quality code.  

Qualifications

Competencies: 

  • Previous experience using modern front-end frameworks such as ReactJS using Redux and Flux patterns, specifically Redux-Saga  
  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS  
  • Experience creating digital content and applications compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and ARIA standards  
  • Experience with testing tools such as Jest and Enzyme  
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with browser-based debugging and performance testing software  
  • Experience with modern source control management methods utilizing Git  
  • Passion for continuous improvement in learning technically and professionally  
  • Experience with continuous delivery and automated testing  
  • Knowledge of modern development practices and the development lifecycle with experience using Scrum, Kanban, Lean or other agile methodologies.  
  • Comfort with relational and unstructured data repositories is a plus. Specifically, some knowledge with Cosmos DB or other NoSQL databases.  
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal as well as experience with MS Teams 

Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • B.A. or B.S. degree. – preferred

  • No travel is expected for this position.
