Maintenance Laborer
POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a knowledgeable Landscaping Maintenance Laborer to join our growing team. The Maintenance team performs a variety of landscaping upkeep for our clients. The Maintenance Laborers will be responsible for basic landscaping needs (planting, edging, raking, sweeping, irrigation, and more) along with some soft scape designs. To be successful in the position, the Maintenance Laborer should be reliable with a keen eye for detail along with solid technical knowledge and experience.

OBJECTIVES
- Performs prescribed maintenance procedures as directed such as, but not limited to: mowing, edging, pruning, hedging, raking, sweeping, weed and pest control
- Performs proper horticulture practices and procedures (common landscape with focus around: trees, plants, perennials, flowers, and groundcover) along with some irrigation
- Completes assigned tasks efficiently while ensuring safety is the top priority
- Uses assigned tools and power equipment in a safe and prescribed manner, avoiding misuse, breakage, or loss
- Keeps tools, machines, and all other company equipment in clean and proper working order
- Reports broken or missing tools immediately to the Manager
- Loads and unloads work vehicles
- Applies granular chemicals and fertilizers after proper training and under the supervision of the Landscape Team Leader
- Mentor, train, and develop new Landscapers when necessary and ensures attentiveness to safety of self, other employees, and the public
- Maintains liaison with other maintenance employees and departments
- Performs continuous training in many facets of the job
- Possesses a valid/active driver’s license
- Performs other responsibilities as assigned

- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of horticultural practices and plant identification
- Demonstrates advanced levels of task specific understandings to include the use of essential tools and equipment, basic foundation of proper irrigation techniques, and preferred repair options

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma required
- 2-3 years of experience in the landscape field, maintenance, or related field
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift, carry and push up to 50 pounds, regularly
- Intermittent and prolonged periods standing, walking, sitting, and kneeling
- Intermittent and prolonged periods planting and performing plant maintenance on flower beds
- Ability to bend, lift, flex and perform all associated physical activities needed to perform all job related tasks
- Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings

Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
